HIV and Me in School.

HIV is a tiny germ called a virus, that harms the body. People may not know they have this virus in their body since they might be looking fresh and fine physically.

As a student in school, we are exposed to lot of factors that can get us in contact with someone or activities that make us have the virus. Eg

1 When kids touch open wounds of class mates

2 When you cut yourself with any sharp objects like the razor, poke another who is HIV positive with needle, pen, pencils or any other sharp objects

3 When you lick off blood of an infected person

4 Through bites

5 When blood of a positive student is transfused to a person who is not positive

What can you do to protect yourself from this virus

1 Call your teachers or health officers when another student gets injured

2 Do not bite

3  Play safe at playing ground and avoid getting yourself injured

4 Don't touch open wounds

5 Avoid sharp piercing objects in class

6 Use only sharpener, not razor in school

7 When you are sick tell mum or dad
